Frequently Asked Questions
The questions families ask us most.
Who is Beyond School Futures Academy for?
▾
BSFA offers practical learning for children, teenagers, parents and caregivers. Topics include money skills, entrepreneurship, digital skills and creativity. Check each course for its age group, content and any entry requirements. Parent Academy™ is for the adults supporting young people.
What is the difference between a pathway and a course?
▾
A pathway brings together courses on a particular theme. Open a pathway to see its courses, then choose the one you want to study. Courses are purchased separately unless they are included in access arranged through your school.
How do I enrol in a programme?
▾
Create a parent or student account, verify your email and sign in. Open your chosen course and select "Buy Course (USD)" for a paid course or "Enroll Now" for a free course. After your payment is confirmed or your enrolment is completed, open the course from your dashboard to start learning.
How do I pay for a course?
▾
You can pay by card through secure Stripe checkout. Course prices are shown in US dollars, including any sale price. Once payment is confirmed, the course is available in your learning account. Free courses do not require payment.
Can I pay BSFA in cash?
▾
Contact the BSFA team to arrange a cash payment. After receiving your payment, BSFA can issue a single-use cash token. Sign in, open a course at the matching US-dollar price, expand "Pay with a cash token" and enter your code. Redeeming it unlocks that course and the code cannot be used again. Do not also pay by card for the same course.
Can my child have their own account?
▾
Yes. A learner can register with their own email address and sign in to their own account. Use the learner's name when the course progress and certificate should belong to them. Younger learners should have help from a parent or caregiver. Partner schools can also provide student logins through the School Portal.
How does progress tracking work?
▾
Mark lessons complete as you finish them. Your course progress updates in your account, so you can return to your dashboard and continue learning. Quiz results are recorded separately; finishing the lessons does not replace the requirement to pass the course quizzes.
Are the quizzes timed?
▾
Yes. Module quizzes allow 90 seconds per question for kids and 45 seconds per question for teens and adults. Final quizzes allow at least 30 minutes. Read the instructions and pass mark before selecting "Start Quiz", because that starts the timer.
How do certificates work?
▾
For courses that offer certificates, you must complete every lesson and meet the pass mark for every required quiz, including the final quiz. Each quiz has its own pass mark. Buying a course or completing its lessons alone does not qualify you for a certificate. Once you qualify, your certificate is available through your learning dashboard to view, print or save as a PDF.
Can someone verify a certificate I have been given?
▾
Yes. Scan the QR code or open the verification link on the certificate. Its unique code opens the BSFA certificate record so the recipient and course details can be checked.
How do I access courses through my school?
▾
Your school will provide an invitation or a student username and temporary password. If you receive an email invitation, follow it to sign in or register, verify your email and accept the invitation. If your school gives you a username, use School Login and choose your own password when prompted. Your School Portal shows the courses allocated to your school; you do not need to purchase those courses separately.
I did not receive my verification email. What should I do?
▾
Check your spam, junk and promotions folders, and make sure you registered with the correct email address. Use the resend-verification option on the login page if you need a fresh link. If you still cannot verify your account, contact the BSFA team.
I have forgotten my password.
▾
For an email-based account, select "Forgot Password" on the login page and follow the reset email. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive. If your school created a username for you, ask your school administrator to reset that login instead.
Do the programmes work on a phone?
▾
Yes. You can use BSFA on a phone, tablet or computer. Use a reliable internet connection for online lessons and timed quizzes. Where a course provides downloadable resources, you can save those files to use later.
How do I stop receiving the newsletter?
▾
Open the unsubscribe link at the bottom of a BSFA newsletter and confirm your choice. You can also change your newsletter preference in your profile. Unsubscribing does not affect your account, course access or essential account emails.
